Ioan graduated from the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, where he is now an associate teacher. He has a master's degree in Film Sound and he has been working as a sound designer in the film industry for almost 15 years. He was involved in productions with international recognition in Cannes or Berlin Film Festivals.
In 2015 he founded Smart Sound Studios, where he currently works as a sound supervisor and sound designer. He was involved in more than 20 fiction and documentary feature films as a sound designer and he collaborated with some of the best directors in Romania.
The most recent recognition is the GOPO Award for Best Sound in 2022, following the beautiful collaboration with Dan Dinu and Cosmin Dumitrache on Wild Romania film.
Ioan is responsible for capturing and designing soundscapes for our documentaries.
